The new F250 (model code F250B) is the first in Yamaha’s line-up of V6 4-strokes to feature the Yamaha Digital Networkshift and throttle system, the electronic remote control concept recently introduced on our top-of-the-line V8 outboards. This smooth, sophisticated and very advanced electronic throttle and gearshift has already proved a big hit with V8 owners and buyers of the V6-powered F250 can now enjoy the same advantages of its larger brother, the F350. The system delivers new standards of high speed control and low speed manoeuvering … so it’s just great to drive!
Precision digital control by electronics, rather than mechanical cable, offers other exciting benefits too; the variable trolling function means the driver can select power in steps of 50 rpm between 600 and 1000 rpm without adjusting the throttle lever - a huge advantage in achieving precise control with ease – and especially useful for fishing. The F250 comes with an engine management and fuel efficiency monitoring gauge as standard, to help you drive the boat in the most fuel efficient way. A wide range of Yamaha Digital Network Gaugescan be linked to the digital engine management system - their ease of use and clear, accurate readouts are already well known to owners of the latest Yamaha engines - what’s more, the system is fully NMEA 2000-compatible, making it easy to link to the navigation equipment of most leading brands.
The F250 features four Yamaha electronic control box options – concealed side-mount for single engine installation, as well as top-mounted for single, twin and triple installation. Multi-engine control is so much easier thanks to the automatic RPM synchronization feature. It automatically links the RPM of all the engines to ensure equal thrust in every situation, delivering a safe and stable ride.
The simple click-and-install digital wiring connections save installation time for both dealer and boat manufacturer, considerably reducing the time and cost of rigging operations.
