The H1 Outboard: Marrying Elegance and Seamlessness

The H1 Outboard: Marrying Elegance and Seamlessness

Within the expansive realm of the runabout classification, the Four Winns H1 finds its niche, demonstrating a fusion of versatility and refinement. Embracing a length slightly surpassing 20 feet, it adeptly navigates tumultuous lake surfaces while accommodating the entire family, all the while maintaining commendable efficiency. Laden with fuel and equipment, the H1's weight falls below the 5,000-pound mark on its trailer, a manageable load for midsize vehicles. The allure of the H1's aesthetic appeal adds a final flourish to its credentials.

This craft's visual allure aligns harmoniously with its H2 and H4 counterparts within the Four Winns lineup. The H1 seamlessly adopts the vertical bow, the windshield characterized by its compound curvature and sweeping lateral wings, and the graceful taper extending rearwards from midship—features that premiered on the larger H Series models. This design language stands in contrast to the angular and aggressive lines reminiscent of stealth fighters that pervade this segment. The H1 emanates a sense of grace rather than ferocity.

Interiors and Additions

Our examination of the H1 pertained to its outboard configuration, a choice that expands the seating capacity and cockpit area compared to its sterndrive counterpart. The cockpit envelopes passengers with a continuous bench seat, supplemented by a pivoting backrest on the port console that accommodates both forward and aft-facing positions. Notable amenities include a waste receptacle, storage beneath the aft seat, and a dedicated compartment for a 25-quart cooler beneath the port seat. Although a dedicated sun lounge is absent, the generously proportioned top bolster of the aft seat, spanning 12 inches in width, serves as a substantial seat pad when facing aft with feet placed on the boarding platform. However, inwale storage provisions are limited. In response, Four Winns ingeniously integrated a cubby into the backrest of the aft seat, complete with cup holders and a designated spot for stowing small items. The upholstery boasts an elegant monochromatic palette, adorned with intricate stitching details and refined stainless-steel accents.
